OUR Mission
Our mission: To Magnify Christ
At Calvary Chapel Eastside, we exist for one great and glorious mission: to glorify God by pointing all people to Jesus Christ—who alone is sufficient for every need and the longing of every heart.
We believe that the greatest thing we can do is help people know Christ, savor His love, and live in joyful obedience to Him. Flowing from this, we pursue three holy ambitions:
1. Love God with All We Are
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37-38)
God is the fountain of life and the treasure of our souls. We exist to worship Him with undivided hearts and unreserved lives. This is why we:
Teach God’s Word, verse by verse, that we might see His glory and learn to love Him as He truly is.
Lift our voices in worship, declaring His greatness with joy and reverence.
Seek Him in prayer, relying on His Spirit to move in power and fulfill His purposes in us.
We long to be a people who say with David, “Your steadfast love is better than life” (Psalm 63:3).
2. Love One Another as Christ Has Loved Us
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you.” (John 13:34)
As sons and daughters adopted into God’s family, we’re called to love and serve one another. We long to be a church where:
Strangers become friends and friends become family.
Every person feels both deeply loved and essentially needed.
Fellowship and service knit us together in the bond of peace.
This love is the mark of true discipleship—and a light to the watching world.
3. Love the World with the Gospel of Jesus
“You will be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
The love of Christ compels us to go beyond our walls:
Individually, we live and share the Gospel in our homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods.
Together, we join the Spirit’s work in making Christ known to the nations.
Our prayer is simple but profound: that Christ’s love would be formed in us and flow through us, until the earth is filled with the knowledge of His glory as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14).
