When someone is immersed and then emerges from the water at baptism, they are bearing witness to an inner cleansing and divine empowerment that has already taken place through childlike faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Though it doesn't add to our salvation, it is an obedient step that galvanizes our faith in Christ.
During your baptism, you will be asked to affirm your faith in Jesus Christ, which requires a simple “Yes” or “No” answer. At that time, you may also share a word about what Jesus means to you.
